3D TV, and no glasses required!

By

The ever progressing tv technologies!

We've got HDTV, LED, LCD and so on. In the past twenty years television has evolved and evolved again. We've went from floor models weighing 200lbs with tin-foiled  rabbit ear antenna to picture perfect poster thin wall mount televisions. We've got flat screen, and rear projection and plasma. You name it, when it comes to television models the choices are overwhelming.Well if you haven't purchased that new tv for the bedroom yet, you just might want to wait awhile. Get ready to move LCD from the living room and into the bedroom because the newest technological advancement is on its way to your living room.... and you can set aside the 3D glasses, you just might not need 'em!

3D Glasses NOT REQUIRED!

The Newest Thing in Televisions.

I'd think some folks may have to sit back a bit to watch this television! With all the hype in theatres lately in 3D movie viewing this is sure to be a "hot product" that'll be flying off the shelves and into the living rooms across the country. You might want to pre-order this one if you're one of them " gotta have the newest thing" kind of people.

Toshiba, Samsung and Sony are a few of the more popular names coming out with 3D products including televisions, blue ray players and more. I'm sure in due time cheaper models will flood the market once the technology gains in popularity. These newly marketed televisions require glasses, and are enhanced with equipment kits to enhance the viewing experience. The release of this new no glasses required, "autosterescopic 3d technology" is set for release in Japan by Toshiba. Though this technology wasn't expected to be on the market for at least a couple years, Toshiba got a jump on the game and could be released late this year (2010). Just in time for the holidays I would imagine. With its rumored release I'd guess other companies will move their release date expectations.

With this announcement from Toshiba back in early October of this year, you should also be aware of Sony's 3D Launch event held back in July of this year. Toshiba though, was the first to actually "demo" the autosterescopic 3d technology. Sony has had pre-order capability since the July announcement. There are 3D tv's on the market already such as Sony Bravia, and Samsung's products as well as Toshiba and others. All of which require glasses and related products to enhance the 3D experience, but with a bit of hassle and discomfort. Well maybe no more!

Nice! Will have to wait for this technology to hit the mainstream market. Never was too fond of the funky 3d glasses. But this is something new entirely and is really cool.

Nice Hub Jeremy,

The technology is ever evolving and the enhancements which improve the television experience are truly remarkable. LCD - LED - etc...All have their own unique benefits and would be considered good choices.

Namaste.

Technology is more impressive than ever. I actually despised the progress of technology when I had little understanding of its capabilities and values, a fear of the unknown kind of thing. Thanks Alternative Prime and Deborah for the comments and the congratulations, much appreciated!

Voted UP and awesome! I'm glad to know that the 3D glasses will soon be unnecessary. If I were to swap my regular glasses for 3D glasses, I wouldn't be able to see anything at all.

Congratulations on your Hubnuggets win.

Congrats on the Hubnugget.

I was looking at 3d tv in a shop yesterday but was put off by having to wear two pairs of specs! Roll on the new tech.

I was also at the dump this weekend and the pile of 'old' tv's was huge!

Talking of Hi Tech this article reminded me of an old uncle back in the sixties who was the only guy in town with a remote control - an eight foot cane with a rubber walking stick end to turn the channel and column knobs!
